Mark Zelinger
President and Founder
With nearly 30 years of sales and marketing experience in the federal
IT arena, Mark Zelinger has earned the reputation as a leader in forging
commercial IT and government market connections.
His ability to match the appropriate vendor, integrator or reseller
with federal government IT requirements creates lasting partnerships.
He understands the management and methodology of both the
public and private sectors, earning him respect in both the IT
industry and federal government.
Mark's unique understanding of the sales process contributes to his
attainment of outstanding sales-quota goals for the companies he
represents.
Mark Zelinger served in several executive and managerial positions for
leading IT technology firms.
Prior to founding Zelinger Associates, he was Vice President of
Partner Relations and Product Marketing for GTSI Corp.
Before GTSI, he served as Vice President of Sales for Atlantic
Duncans International, a leading IT professional services firm.
His managerial experience includes sales and marketing positions with
BTG, Sears Federal Systems, FCP Technologies, Businessland, and
Exxon Office Systems.
Results-oriented, his broad sales experience gives him the ability
to see relationship potential not only from the ground level, but
also from the "the executive suite" in both the IT industry and
the federal government.
Mark is active in industry organizations, serving on the Board of
Directors of the DC Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and
Electronics Association (AFCEA).
He is an active member of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC).
Mark holds a Master's Degree from the George Washington University
in Washington, D. C. and a Bachelor's degree from the State
University of New York in Albany, NY.
Steven Groves
Advisor
Mr. Groves leads the research and development of cutting edge technology and service initiatives in support of ZAI Solutions’ current and future DOD
related customers. He consults regularly with executives from a variety of science and technology fields to help create space based solutions to local
and global dilemmas.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Groves worked for Camber, Inc., supporting the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command Operational Manager
as Lead Scientist for the IP Router In Space (IRIS) Joint Capability Technology Demonstration (JCTD). He also designed the prototypes and led the
experimentation teams for the Space Support Element Toolset, the Virtual Mission Operations Center and the Multi-Use Ground Station at the US Army
Space and Missile Defense Battle Laboratory. He continues to support the Joint Interagency Intergovernmental Multinational Community to design and
prototype emerging C4ISR technology.
Steven has been honored with the Army Space and Missile Defense Government technical achievement award for his design, development, testing
and deployment in OEF and OIF of space and missile defense systems that to this day protect our troops and our homeland.
Steven retired from the United States Army in 1996 from the Battle Command Battle Laboratory. He has an MBA in Engineering Management and a B.S. in
Electronics Engineering from Bryson University. Since retirement Steven has been providing innovation to the aerospace industry as a scientist, engineer
and program manager for Raytheon, High Performance Technologies, Segovia, and Camber, as well as, serving as a Department of the Army Civil Servant
acquisition professional. In 2008, Steven designed and deployed a history-making satellite communications capability that for the first time in USCG history
provided Maritime VTC and Tele-Translation capability over commercial satellite allowing robust Counter-Narco-Terror Operations collaboration while underway.
Lisa Newell
Vice President of Financials, Program Management & General IT Consulting
With over 27 years of experience in the federal sector, Lisa Newell has received numerous awards for capturing the largest contracts in corporate histories for some
of the most prominent technology companies in the world. And not just large companies--she has helped small companies establish business operating infrastructures,
launch new business units and exceed revenue and profitability objectives annually. Her responsibilities have included operations and business development, service
integration, solutions development, and information security.
Ms. Newell is extremely active in the federal community. She serves on the board of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) DC Chapter,
supports the NOVA chapter as a volunteer, and is an active member of a number of other associations including the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA),
the Industry Advisory Council (IAC), the National Contracts Management Association (NCMA) and the American Management Association (AMA).
Ms. Newell holds an MS and BS in Economics, receiving an academic letter for graduate studies, and an MBA in finance. Her best-known publication was a cost benefit
study comparing the use of enterprise software licenses to the as-is incremental purchase model used. This watershed study was considered a major factor in changing
federal IT spending.
Charles E. ("Chick)" Reutter
Director of Satellite Business Development
With over 25-years experience, Chick Reutter is a seasoned professional in the Satellite Telecommunications marketplace. He has a deep understanding of virtually all of the
core technologies employed in the Satcom market, including hardware and networking platforms. In the course of his career, Reutter has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to
translate user applications to deployed satellite networking platforms that deliver substantial benefits to both Commercial and Government clients. His experience includes work
with Satellite Modem and RF technologies as well as innovative Broadcast and VSAT platforms.
Chick has worked with a number of the leading providers of satellite networking equipment and services both in Sales and Sales Management roles. He has experience in new
product definition and market identification and has built and managed global networks of Sales and Support Channels. Chick has worked closely with End Users, Distributors,
Systems Integrators, Service Providers, and Resellers to introduce products and build sales to Government and Commercial customers.
Currently a resident of Annapolis, Maryland, Chick attended Georgetown University and has taken a strong interest in local activities including serving of the founding Board of a
successful school for learning-challenged young people. He is a member of a number of industry associations.
Barbara Ellen Bridges
Business Development Manager, Washington, DC
Ms. Bridges has teamed with ZAI Solutions and brings her expertise helping small and medium size companies with their strategic and tactical business development
and helps them focus and navigate the Government technology marketplace. Her expertise in the IT arena includes a technology focus on cyber security. With her over
20 years of working with IT companies, she provides great insight and brings that experience and network to her clients.
Ms. Bridges has a well-rounded knowledge of the Government Sector gained from working for leading System Integrators, Federal Resellers and Software Companies.
She’s held Executive Leadership roles at GTE, Litton PRC, CACI, GTSI, web Methods, TIBCO and most recently, before starting PAR Excellence, was Senior Vice President
of SecureInfo, a Cyber Security Company.
Ms. Bridges is an active member of the Washington IT Community. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the AFCEA DC
Chapter and is an active member of the Industry Advisory Council. As a way of giving back to the community, she serves on the Board of The Peace Brokers,
a non-profit organization dedicated to working with teenagers from around the world giving them a chance to experience different cultures and understand how they can
make a difference in the world.
Bill Simon
Business Development Manager, Los Angeles
Bill Simon's experience in high-technology sales includes 12 years as a manufacturer’s representative in Southern California specializing in complex RF and microwave
components, composites, and instrumentation. As a sales engineer he called on all the major primes. In 1988 he founded a corporation to design and manufacture
CCD cameras for low-light imaging applications such as astronomy. He was involved with various aspects of the electronic
and mechanical design, technical documentation, and specification generation. He received two patents for an innovative thermoelectric cooling system. In 2008 he
was involved in the design and fabrication of the NASA/JPL Goldstone radar receiver for the 70 meter antenna as part of the Goldstone Solar System Radar project.
Bill is a member of the Los Angeles chapter of AFCEA. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, CA.
Jim Dunn
Vice President, Training and Contracting
Jim Dunn is a senior-level professional with 20+ years of federal contracting and programs experience. Jim has expertise in all aspects of federal procurement
regulations, small business contracting methodologies, federal sales procedures, international and intergovernmental contracting and capture management. Prior
to his participation with ZAI Solutions Mr. Dunn was an Executive with Red Team Consulting. Immediately prior he was the COO and founding member of Eyak Technologies,
an Alaskan native Corporation (ANC) and diversified 8(a)-certified Systems Integrator for nearly four years. Under his leadership, the company generated approximately
$250 million in recognized revenue through federal contracts, with awards for additional long-term contract vehicles worth over $500 million. Mr. Dunn also served as
Vice President of Business Development, including Captures and Bids, for GTSI Corporation a large federal information technology contractor, where he was
responsible for capturing over $3 billion of awarded contracts.
Mr. Dunn is an active member of numerous industry organizations including the Armed Forces
Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the Industry Advisory Council (IAC), and the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC).
Additionally, Mr. Dunn has taken a special interest in philanthropic activities throughout his career.
Melissa Barnes
Director of Operations
Melissa Barnes has over 25 years of experience managing small and large offices. She has been with ZAI Solutions for 6 years. As the Director of Operations, she not only
manages the daily office routines including issuing NDA, consultant agreements and reviewing contracts but is also responsible for providing our clients with opportunity research.
Melissa provides insight into government contracts and spending plans and identifies key players with in government and systems integrators.
Her career at Proxicom served as the incubator for her new company, having provided her with the environment to grow her skills and experience in managing projects, budgets,
contracts and business events for Fortune 100 clients. She began her career in the startup stage as an Office Manager, Proposal Manager, and Facilities Security Officer.
Over the next 13 years she was rapidly promoted to more and more responsible positions in the fast paced entrepreneurial environment of web services.
She acquired broad based skills that ranged from Director of Administration - finding office space, building out that space, recruiting staff and managing the day-to-day
operations of four national offices, with leases of $4.5M - to directing sales operations (including Siebel operations) and planning C-level corporate events.
She was an integral team member, consistently relied on by the CEO and top management to work independently, solve process problems and keep projects on track.
